Porsche Platinum GT3 CCCE – the start of the 2015 season

04-05-2015  News

The opening of the season took place on the famous Hungaroring circuit on the last but one weekend of April.  It is already the fourth Porsche Platinum GT3 Cup Challenge Central Europe – an international racing series of the German sports car manufacturer.

The Platinum brand has been the strategic partner of the races for two consecutive years so far.

2015 will bring many changes, the most important of them being introduction of the new 911 GT3 Cup model into competition – the very same as the one driven by the competitors of the prestigious Porsche Supercup and Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland series.

The calendar of the Central-European cup symbolises its development and further expansion. In addition to Hungaroring, known to the racing fans from hosting Formula 1 races, the series will appear on Hungarian Pannoniaring and will visit Czech Republic twice – on the circuits in Brno and Most, where it will accompany the European Truck Racing Championship (FIA ETRC), attracting thousands of fans from all over the world. Moreover, the drivers competing for the crown of the Porsche Platinum GT3 CCCE champion will confront one another on German Lausitzring and twice on the circuit in Poznań, which will host the season finals.

The format of the racing weekend remains unchanged, therefore this year the drivers will appear on each circuit four times. At first, the engines will roar during a 35 minute long training session; then the drivers will compete in qualifying race and two races lasting for 20 minutes + 1 lap. At the season opening on Hungaroring, the time trial is scheduled for 13:40 on Friday, April 24th. The races will take place on Saturday and Sunday – the first one on 13:50 and the second on 10:00 sharp.
